Entrepreneur and PricewaterhouseCoopers Release 11th Annual Hot 100 Listing of Fastest-Growing New Companies in the U.S.

Irvine, California (May 24, 2005) – Entrepreneur magazine has released its highly anticipated annual Hot 100 listing of the fastest-growing new companies in the United States. This year’s listing was assembled from an initial list of fast-growing companies compiled by PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Taking the 51st spot this year is Kelle's Transport Service, Inc. (www.kellestransport.com) a Salt Lake City, UT based Truck Load Transportation & Logistics firm. Founded by Kelle A. Simon in April 2002 with an initial investment of $45,000 thousand dollars, the company has seen annual revenues skyrocket in just three years. Revenue for 2005 is projected to be $8,000,000 million dollars, up from $1,902,165 million dollars in 2002. Kelle A. Simon attributes the success of his company to the quality of his employees. "Everything must start with good people", he says. "I don't think there's any possible way we could have been so successful so quickly if it weren't for the people we have."

Each Hot 100 company was founded no earlier than 2000, had annual sales that exceeded $1 million in 2004, and has a founder with a controlling interest in the business who is actively involved in daily operations. Entrepreneur reports that the hottest industry this year is technology, with 20 of the 100 companies listed falling into this category. This year’s Hot 100 companies report $1.5 billion in total sales, a substantial increase from the $795.3 million reported by the companies in 2004. This year’s Hot 100 companies also raised over 10 times as much startup capital as last year’s group, an increase from $62.1 million to $631.1 million.

As the bestselling business monthly on the newsstand, Entrepreneur magazine recently increased its guaranteed rate base by 4.5 percent, from 550,000 to 575,000, beginning with its March issue, and plans to increase its rate base to 600,000 by June 2006 for a total overall increase of 9 percent.
